Great article, Tom. A fascinating read. It really is interesting how even just a few years ago, it was much more exciting to watch the summer showcases, and even The Game Awards. These days, there seems to be so many games that I've grown to care a lot less, and am more relying on the reviews and recommendations of those close to me. It's good to see a little recap of what's new and going on, but I don't quite have the fervor for the news like I used to. I'd honestly just prefer the publishers send a tweet announcement 😅 I'm glad that Steam Next Fest has picked up though, being able to play demo's for upcoming games is a total game changer for the indie and AA scene for sure.
